The app idea has developed into a hologram, controlled through smart watch or phone. This is perfect because the suit is so technical it compliments this. I also means that I can solve the issues of the person walking in the suit which I want to green screen onto because the walking will make it very difficult to make the visuals look realistic as they will need to move with the suit. And doing this for multiple different patterns and fitting each and every movement of the body is something that would take weeks. The hologram idea allows me to keep the actor very still when the visuals appear on the suit.
PDF of mine and Frans part of the Communities of Practice conference.
I can not do the idea of having person walk through different locations because it would require equipment like a huge tracking dolly and be able to have a space wide enough to get a decent about of the location in shot.
Filming this on a green screen with a person in a blue suit so I could key out both bits, one for the locations and one for the visual to go on the suit, Also requires a lot of equipment.
I have evolved my idea into this. Using hangers to show different clothes. person walks past, in suit, selects something on their phone then the clothes on the hanger appear on the person. Basically showing that through an app you control the suit to look like whatever clothes you want. The Suit would still be done using green screen technology.
After my initial attempt I went back into After Effects and started a new composition to use what I had learnt last time in terms of transition effects I liked and ways to combine them. This time I only used a Warp transition along with a grid wipe and pixilation and colour changing effects.
Idea for Advert.
Person in green suit, visuals super imposed on it.
Film person walking in different locations. Suit changes pattern as it happens. Advert will appear as though person walks through different places by stitching locations together. Person stays centre of screen.
At the end, multiple shots come up, showing different people in different locations.
First attempt; playing around with different effects and getting used to the program.
Second attempt; refining what I had learnt – I had to restart because something went wrong and it seemed easier to do so, or maybe I was just feeling lazy.
This one is better
